In July 2014, Watson was made a United Nations ambassador for women’s goodwill and gave a speech to the United Nations in New York later that year. Her intervention was part of the United Nations women’s campaign HeForShe, which sought to involve more men in the campaign for equality between men and women.
Watson tried to brush up on the concept of feminism – to break away from the idea of “hatred for people” but to involve men in the process of greater equality.
